Each holiday I pack my active wear in the hope I will be a diligent woman and get a morning walk in. Most holidays I have failed miserably, normally opting for a lazy lie in, or an overindulgent breakfast. But I’m determined to work off the calories I’m consuming. And day 2 saw success as I rise with the sun and head towards the water.

It was absolutely worth it. Surrounded by other walkers and stall holders prepping their stores for the day. They’re so meticulous and take such pride in their work.
Along the beach are various groups out with photographers snapping the perfect pic – couples and families a plenty.
I return back to the villa – sweat dripping – to find Matthew has already risen. We head out for some brekky and the daily grocery shop before having a ride down the main drag to the ICON Bali. A new shopping centre that had its opening on our last trip here and we’d not had a chance to explore.

There’s some pretty fancy stores that are fun to look at but not really our thing. Bali is always the place to find a bargain, not pay the same price for the same thing back home.
We enjoy the air con and the marked difference in quality of the stores just steps away.
There’s plenty of food options too and before long we decide to stop for lunch. Spotting a sushi train that was calling our name. We giggle as they sing a little song each time a new customer walks in. No idea what they’re saying but it’s entertaining nonetheless.

There’s so many options and the standard was high. As our plates stacked and our tummy’s filled we were forced to call it a day. I could’ve had so much more, and Matthew had his fill of wasabi and pickled ginger, so we ride home, satisfied and ready for a relaxing evening and night.
Before we settle in the rest of our day, I head for a pedicure and foot massage. Before heading inside I have a quick chat with the owner who I’ve seen each time I’ve been here. Checked in on his family, chatted about tattoos as he’d spotted my latest edition. Apparently his goal is to be completely covered up to his neck. But the cost will mean his goal won’t be reached for some time. I learn that women in Indonesia are starting to jump on the tattoo bandwagon. Always interested to hear about the way things are changing here.

The pedi and foot massage combo is the best!! I’m so relaxed I even nod off which entertains the lady expertly rubbing my legs into submission.
I love this place – as in Bali! The epitome of the best kind of relaxing holiday.
Following in from that theme, I head back to the villa, pick up the washing from the laundry on my way, and the jellylike feeling after my pampering meant I misread the final turn into our laneway and hit the wall. Typical clumsy me – I was due for an incident after so many days without one. I come away lightly as the bike took the brunt of it.
I’ve earned a dip and we spend the rest of the afternoon in the pool, music cranked, special coffee in hand, and we plot out our next day while we float and enjoy the last of the sunshine in the pool.
Not much more to share about today – we order in from a warung and enjoy some local cuisine once again. Sit by the television and no end of entertainment watching Matthew chase mozzies around the room.
Another spectacular day in paradise.
