Any day in a Disney Park is incredible. I don’t even feel like I need to tell you much about it because for those that know me are well aware of my obsession (complete with tattoo of Mickey Mouse ears.
I soon learned that there is a lot of differences in the park here in Paris to those of enjoyed in the USA. I knew there would be but it also meant there was no rush in the morning. I’d primed myself to arrive before it’s open so I could be there in case there was a welcome show out the front which there was not. Also I knew the park was a smaller cousin too so there’s plenty of time to get everything done I wanted to. So I got ready, put on my tiara and headed out by train to Disneyland Paris (used to be Euro Disney).

The train trip was easy. I train transfer and off I go. The train station is right next to Disneyland and it’s very cool to see the iconic Mickey Mouse ears on the train signage to direct you where to go.
It is always exciting for me that moment that you walk up to the entrance of a Disneyland park for the first time. Even though it’s quite strange that everything is in French and not the American accent I’m used to hearing. But that’s not a problem – I’m at Disneyland.

I quickly enter as I’d pre purchased my ticket (of course) and made my way down the famous Main Street USA. I am seriously with ‘my tribe’. It’s a great feeling to be amongst lovers of Disney. There’s families with matching shirts, customized outfits for special events (birthdays, engagements etc). These are definitely my kind of people.

I waste no time to hit the rides. I noticed there’s a few rides out of action on my way to Thunder Mountain and spot a few Disney celebrities along the way.

Now being on my own at Disney is a new experience, but I’ve got to say that there is still lots of fun to be had as I chat to people in lines and enjoy watching the characters interact with the kids. To see kids faces as they are about to meet their favourite character never gets old.
I do wonder what people are thinking about me as I run up to the characters when it’s my turn and give them a big hug.
The first I come across is Woody from Toy Story. He’s in fine form today. I watch him give special time to an autistic kid who lapped it up. That’s one thing about every Disney park, then never rush you with characters, it’s actually very special.
When it comes to my turn Woody immediately noticed my tiara and because he’s a non-speaking character their minders help to enhance the communication.
BUT it’s absolutely NO mistake when Woody blows me a kiss and gets down on one knee – HE WANTS TO MARRY ME!I graciously decline – but at least he knows he’s got a friend in me! (Please tell me you get that – if you don’t then google it)

I make my way around the park as I wait to hear back from a friend of mine. As luck would have it, a friend of mine from back home is here too. I can not believe we are in the same Disney park on the other side of the world at the same time.
I stop for lunch and we’ve made plans to meet after the parade later on. So I continue on to rides and character meetings. The most special was meeting the big guy, the head honcho, the boss, and my main squeeze — Mickey Mouse. It’s just before I head in that I encountered my 2nd Australian since I’ve been away. He was the greeter before you went into meet Mickey. We got to chatting and he was so excited to be talking to an Australian and hearing the accent. He’s from Melbourne and told me there’s a few Aussies working there that have kind of all banded together as a group.
But now it was my turn to step into meet Mickey. He’s gorgeous, and loves my tiara and my tattoo (I’d shown the Aussie greeter and he mentioned it to the big guy on my way for a squeeze. I truly love Disney.

The way Disney makes things happen is incredible. The costuming, the way they have themed lands, the long queue made bearable for cool stuff to look at.
I weave through the crowds to enjoy rides and attractions, and basically the magic of Disney

The parade is due to start soon so I find a spot and quickly order a crepe with Nutella. They love that stuff over here. So I figured I need to be a part of it. Then the parade starts. How incredible!! The characters the costumes – it’s quite a site indeed.

Now it was time to see my gorgeous Terrigal gal Charleen now that the parade has ended. So excited to see her and still spinning from the fact that we’re both with each other over here. We take a mandatory picture with the castle and spend some time exploring the park.

As we pass its a small world we decided it seemed fitting to go in and do that ride together. It’s such an iconic ride, even if it’s kind of slow and somewhat boring – some might say.

A smile means friendship for everyone! It’s a great motto and rings true with my personal advice that a snails ks the same in any language!
After doing a few rides together we decided to have a late dinner and then I’m heading off. I was going to stay for the 11pm foreworks but I’m exhausted and conscious of an early start tomorrow.

We do a quick stop at the biggest souvenir shop in the park before farewelling each other. Their hotel is next door, but my journey is a little longer.
I call dad to let him know I’ll be home earlier than planned so we decide to have a last supper together before we head out separate ways.
I quickly put on some more clothes as I arrive home. We go for a wander to an area that dad had explored earlier in the night. There’s plenty of restaurants to choose from so we sit down, and I share my stories of the day. As does he.
It’s time to head home – Italy tomorrow!!
